Future Bike Mechanics

Hannah (left) and Maddie (right) are putting the finishing touches on the contents of a box that arrived at the house today. We have been waiting for four months for the package to arrive. They were excited to learn how to build a bike, so I took the opportunity to teach them the proper methods (sorry Jason, we didn't ream the seat post or trim the factory cables). Greg and Sterling will have some good looking chick mechanics in 5 years and I will have an employee's discount :)

The larger question for the audience is....why did a bike snob like Tom get a Schwinn Frontier?

I'm guessing you bought it because it was cheap, the girls liked the color, or both. That's why people bought Frontiers back when I sold 'em. :-)

Glad to see two more mechanics in training. Can they change a flat yet?

I'm thinking its so they can actually practice their budding mechanic skills. Those "other" bikes you bought them last year should be bulletproof and thereby negating any possible knowledge gain from working on them... Ya, that or they liked the color and its possibly cheaper than starting them on a shoe obsession.
