The best $20 you will spend in Moab

Just like a kid on the 1st day of school, we wake up and catch the 7:45 bus. Only this time it costs $20 and takes you 4000 vertical feet above Moab and drops you off at the snowline. 23miles of downhill grins start in 30min.

Day 4 - Hurrah pass Jacobs Ladder Amasa descent

Today was a very hot and long ride. 40 miles, 4:15 ride time, 6 hours out in 90 degree weather, 7000 feet of climbing, 4400calories burned, 100oz. of water and still had to ride the last 60minutes without H2O = Tired legs, sunburn and dehydration (plus a big smile)

My goal for the week of riding was achieved, good miles in the legs and good training.

Tomorrow is the 23mile descent of Porcupine Rim, very little climbing required.

Day 3 - Rabbit Valley

Mid-morning start at rabbit valley to ride the rim trail. This time we rode from the highway trailhead which added some fun downhills along the way. Medium paced ride for 3hrs and 19.5 miles. This picture should show the trail along the rim. Pic is taken from the Kokapelli trail that we ride out. We are now in Moab and going up to ride the slickrock short loop before dinner.

Day 3 - Western Rim

Today we are headed out to rabbit valley and will ride the western rim. Probably a 3 hour ride for that section and then back to the car to restock before we explore for more trails in the same area.
Thus, this big plate of breakfast :)
Possible ride tonight at Slickrock, it depends on the light.

Day2 - Ribbon and Lunch loops

Rain last night so we took our time and the set up a shuttle ride to the Ribbon. Not as much fun as last year, but still a good novelty ride. This time we rode Andy's to exit out of the ribbon and it was fun. We set another shorter shuttle and did part of Gunny's loop back down to the road and then prenupt to Holy Cross which was a great trail. Lots of technical but rideable drops and yet good trail. Finished by coming down Kurt's ridge. No road 18 as we ran out of time. Tomorrow we head out to Rabbit Valley. A few more pics on Flickr(link on the right).

I love my 29er....Fruita day1 Loma exit

Mistakes on the previous posts. Good riding today at the Loma exit. The 29er rode fantastic, I felt comfortable right from the start and was able to ride down drops like it was day 4. More photos on the Flickr to the right. Check out the one pic of the rescue that we witnessed. It was a timely reminder to pay attention out here.
